Ladaku release date is now official, and the announcement came today, 4 November 2026. Birla Studios has announced that Ladaku, starring Kartik Aaryan and directed by Kabir Khan, will release in cinemas worldwide on 18 June 2027. The news reunites one of Hindi cinema’s most talked-about recent actor-director pairs, and it also marks a new chapter in Kartik Aaryan’s career, because Ladaku is his debut as a producer.
This is an announcement, not a trailer launch. No teaser, trailer, poster or supporting cast has been revealed yet, and the makers have not disclosed the specific real-life story behind the film. That honesty matters, because Ladaku is already being discussed online — and this article separates what Birla Studios has actually confirmed today from what is only reported so far.
What Birla Studios Announced Today About Ladaku
The core facts of the Ladaku release date announcement are simple and confirmed by multiple large trade outlets today, including Bollywood Hungama, Cinema Express and Filmfare, all dated 4 November 2026. Birla Studios, led by Ananya Birla, announced the worldwide theatrical release date of Ladaku as 18 June 2027. Kartik Aaryan stars in the film, and Kabir Khan directs it.
Ladaku is produced by Birla Studios and Kabir Khan Entertainment, and it also marks Kartik Aaryan’s debut as a producer through his newly launched banner, Dopamine Studios. In other words, Kartik is not only headlining Ladaku — he is also backing it as a producer for the first time.
The makers describe Ladaku as a heart-tugging, inspiring film. Birla Studios calls it an extraordinary real-life story of ambition, grit and hope, and trade reports describe it as an emotional, heartwarming family entertainer. Those descriptions set the tone, but they are deliberately broad: the film’s exact subject, characters and plot have not been shared yet.
Why the Kartik Aaryan and Kabir Khan Reunion Matters
Ladaku release date news matters most because of the pairing at its centre. Kartik Aaryan and Kabir Khan last worked together on Chandu Champion, released in 2024. That biographical sports drama, in which Kartik played Murlikant Petkar, India’s first Paralympic gold medallist, earned Kartik his first National Film Award for Best Actor, according to trade coverage of today’s announcement.
Kabir Khan is known for soul-stirring, large-hearted films about people who battle the odds and triumph through sheer willpower. His best-loved work includes Bajrangi Bhaijaan and 83, both stories of determination against difficult circumstances. Ladaku fits that pattern on paper: another real-life-inspired story, another protagonist defined by ambition and resilience, and a director who specialises in turning such stories into family viewing.
For Kartik, Ladaku also arrives at an interesting moment. Trade reports note that he has had no theatrical release in 2026, but is now lined up for three films in the first half of 2027. That run, if it holds, would make the first six months of 2027 one of the busiest stretches of his career — and Ladaku, as his producer debut, would be its centrepiece.
5 Exciting Details About Ladaku Release Date
1. Ladaku release date is 18 June 2027. Birla Studios announced the worldwide theatrical release date today, 4 November 2026. It is a cinema release, not a streaming premiere, and no OTT platform has been announced for Ladaku yet.
2. Kartik Aaryan stars and produces. Ladaku is Kartik’s debut as a producer, through Dopamine Studios, alongside Birla Studios and Kabir Khan Entertainment. He headlines the film as well as backing it, which makes this a bigger personal bet than a standard acting assignment.
3. Kabir Khan directs after Chandu Champion. Ladaku reunites Kartik with Kabir Khan, the director of Chandu Champion (2024), Bajrangi Bhaijaan and 83. The makers are positioning Ladaku as another emotional, heartwarming family entertainer from that same tradition.
4. The story is real-life inspired — but the details are still secret. Birla Studios says Ladaku narrates an extraordinary real-life story of ambition, grit and hope. The specific person or events behind the film have not been officially disclosed, and no supporting cast has been announced yet.
5. No trailer, poster or teaser yet. Unlike most release-date announcements that arrive with a first look, Ladaku has so far been announced with the title and date only. Fans should treat any fan-made poster or teaser circulating online as unofficial, and wait for Birla Studios’ own first look.
What Is Reported About Ladaku — and What Is Not Confirmed
Some reports today go further than the official announcement, and it is worth marking the difference clearly. According to reports cited by trade outlets, Ladaku is inspired by the life of Kashmiri kickboxer Tajamul Islam, who became a world kickboxing champion at the age of seven, with Kartik Aaryan reportedly playing the role of her coach.
That reported inspiration is plausible, and it fits the makers’ description of an extraordinary real-life story. But it has NOT been confirmed by Birla Studios in today’s announcement, and other large outlets note explicitly that the makers have yet to reveal the real-life figure behind Ladaku. Until Birla Studios or Kabir Khan confirm it, the Tajamul Islam link should be treated as reported, not official — and this article does not present it as fact.
The same caution applies to the rest of the film. No other cast members, no character names, no shooting schedule and no music details have been officially announced. When those details arrive, they will be worth a separate update, but inventing them now would only mislead readers searching for Ladaku release date news.
Kartik Aaryan’s 2027 Slate Around Ladaku
Ladaku release date sits inside a crowded 2027 calendar for Kartik Aaryan. According to Bollywood Hungama’s coverage today, his upcoming schedule includes the fantasy comedy Naagzilla on 12 February 2027, followed by Anurag Basu’s romantic drama with Sreeleela on 30 April 2027, before Ladaku arrives on 18 June 2027.
That sequence is notable for two reasons. First, it means Kartik goes from no theatrical release in 2026 to three releases in the first six months of 2027. Second, the three films are very different in genre — a shape-shifting fantasy comedy, a romantic drama and an inspiring real-life film — which suggests a deliberate attempt to show range rather than repeat a single successful formula.
For Ladaku specifically, the June date also gives the film a clear summer window, away from the February and April releases. Whether it holds that date will depend on production progress, which has not been detailed yet, but for now 18 June 2027 is the date the makers have committed to publicly.
