The Cliff Booth trailer is out today, and it brings back one of the coolest characters modern Hollywood has ever created. Netflix has released the second official trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, and this time Brad Pitt’s stuntman-turned-fixer is operating in a much darker, seedier Los Angeles than the one we saw in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The new footage landed on 6 November 2026, and it makes one thing clear: this is not a victory lap. It is a sunbaked crime thriller, and Cliff Booth is right in the middle of it.
The Playlist and ScreenRant both covered the Cliff Booth trailer’s release today.

1. Cliff Booth trailer shows a fixer, not a stuntman
The biggest reveal in the Cliff Booth trailer is how much the character has changed. In 1969, Cliff made short work of the Manson family. Eight years later, in 1977, he is no longer spending his days doubling for Rick Dalton.
Instead, he has become a Hollywood fixer, handling the dirty work that agents, executives and movie stars would rather keep quiet. The trailer leans into that shift completely. Cliff is calm, smiling and dangerous in equal measure, the kind of man who solves problems before anyone else even knows they exist.
It is a smart evolution of the character, and it gives Brad Pitt a very different kind of role to play from the laid-back stuntman of the first film.
2. A blackmail plot pulls Cliff into LA’s criminal underworld
The Cliff Booth trailer also lays out the story. Cliff’s latest assignment comes through talent agent Karen Crosby, played by Elizabeth Debicki. She represents television star Charlie Peters, played by Scott Caan, an actor whose complicated personal and professional life pulls Cliff into a world of blackmail, extortion and organised crime.
The trailer hints at threats, payoffs and people who cannot afford to be exposed, and Cliff walks through all of it with the same easy confidence. The 1977 setting matters here too. This is Los Angeles after the golden age, a city of fading glamour and growing shadows, and the trailer’s warm, grainy look sells that mood beautifully.
3. A strong supporting cast joins Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt may be the centre of the Cliff Booth trailer, but the cast around him is genuinely exciting. Carla Gugino plays Peters’ wife, while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II appears as a former football star turned actor. Peter Weller also features, alongside Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian.
Elizabeth Debicki, in particular, looks like a major presence as Karen Crosby, the agent who sets the whole plot in motion. The trailer gives each of them a moment, and the mix of established stars and fresh faces suggests a film with plenty of moving parts. If the first film was a love letter to Hollywood, this one looks like a tour of its back rooms.
4. David Fincher and Quentin Tarantino reunite Cliff Booth with a dream team
Behind the camera, the Cliff Booth trailer carries some serious pedigree. David Fincher directs, working from a screenplay by Quentin Tarantino, whose 2019 film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood introduced the character. It is the fourth collaboration between Pitt and Fincher, following Seven, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Fincher has also reunited with cinematographer Erik Messerschmidt and editor Kirk Baxter, while composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have now been officially confirmed for the film after earlier speculation. Fincher himself recently described the project in a way that tells you exactly what to expect. “It’s not really a stunt story, it’s not really a movie story, it’s not really even a Hollywood story anymore. It’s an LA story,” he told Netflix’s Tudum.
That single line explains the trailer’s tone better than anything else.
5. IMAX release on 25 November, then Netflix on 23 December
The release plan for the film is just as interesting as the Cliff Booth trailer itself. The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth opens globally in IMAX theatres on 25 November 2026, giving audiences a chance to see Fincher’s Los Angeles on the biggest screen possible.
It then arrives on Netflix on 23 December, just in time for the holidays. That two-step release is a big vote of confidence from Netflix, and it means the film gets both a proper theatrical moment and a huge streaming audience within a month. For fans who have waited since 2019 to see Cliff Booth again, the wait is now measured in weeks, not years.
Why this trailer matters
The first film ended with Cliff Booth as a folk hero of sorts, the stuntman who saved the day. The new Cliff Booth trailer refuses to repeat that trick. Instead, it asks what happens to a man like Cliff when the spotlight moves on and the work gets dirtier.
The fixer angle is fresh, the 1977 setting is rich, and the Fincher-Tarantino combination is the kind of pairing that rarely happens twice. Add the IMAX release, and this is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about films of the year-end season. If you loved Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, this trailer is essential viewing. And if you are new to Cliff Booth, it is a perfect introduction to a character who is about to become very famous all over again.
The wait is short. The Cliff Booth trailer is out now, the film hits IMAX screens on 25 November, and Netflix follows on 23 December. For more new trailer news, check out our piece on the GOAT trailer, another big trailer that dropped this week.
