Chandrayan trailer is out today, and it is one of the most unusual Telugu trailers of the year. Four friends from a village build a rocket in their backyard, blast off into space, and then realise they have no idea how to get back home. The official trailer of Chandrayan dropped on 6 November 2026, exactly a week before the film reaches theatres on 13 November 2026, and it packs village humour, space adventure and a surprisingly big visual scale into one cheerful package. You can watch the trailer video on 123telugu, which published it today.

Presented by Venu Udugula and produced by Praveen Molaka under the banner of Simba Screen Stories, Chandrayan stars Shiva Kumar Dheekonda and Swapna Priyadarshini in the lead roles. The film is written and directed by Srinath Chandrashekhar, and the trailer makes one thing clear from its first frames: this is not a science lecture dressed up as a film. It is a comedy about ordinary people doing something extraordinary, and then dealing with the chaos that follows.
What the Chandrayan trailer shows
The Chandrayan trailer opens in a village, where four friends dream far bigger than their surroundings. They are not scientists, they are not astronauts, and they do not have a space agency behind them. What they have is stubbornness, a wild idea, and each other. So they build a rocket themselves.
The trailer then moves from dusty village lanes to the inside of a spacecraft, where the same four friends float around in confusion as their homemade rocket drifts through space. The humour comes from the contrast: big space-movie visuals on one side, and small-town common sense on the other. The friends argue, panic, celebrate too early, and keep finding new problems the moment they solve the last one. The trailer keeps the biggest jokes for the theatre, but it shows enough to make the premise land: a village rocket, four unprepared astronauts, and a journey nobody planned properly.
Four friends, one homemade rocket
The story of Chandrayan is refreshingly simple. Four quirky and humorous friends from a village build a rocket, and their adventure takes a wild turn when they find themselves stranded in space. That is the official premise, and the trailer builds everything around it.
What makes the idea work is how relatable the friends feel. They are not heroes in the usual sense. They bicker like real friends, they cut corners, they overestimate themselves, and they refuse to give up even when things go wrong. The trailer suggests the film’s comedy comes from character, not just from the space setting. A rocket built by four villagers is funny on its own, but four villagers trying to survive in space is where the real laughs live.
Who stars in Chandrayan
Shiva Kumar Dheekonda leads the cast of Chandrayan, and the trailer positions him as the heart of the group. Swapna Priyadarshini plays the female lead. The supporting cast includes Ravi Siva Teja, Vamsidhar, Lokesh and Balagam Sathyanarayana, who play the other friends and the people around them.
It is a young, largely fresh cast, and that is part of the film’s charm. The trailer does not lean on star power. Instead, it leans on the ensemble: the chemistry between the four friends is what sells the adventure. For a film built on friendship, that is exactly the right bet.
The team behind the film
Srinath Chandrashekhar has written the story, screenplay and dialogues of Chandrayan, and he has directed it as well. Harsha Prawin has composed the music, Srinivasa B has handled the cinematography, and PR Teja Dasari is the editor. Kasarla Shyam has written the lyrics, while Baba Bhaskar and Eswar Penti have choreographed the songs.
The film is presented by Venu Udugula, who previously found success with Raju Weds Rambai, and produced by Praveen Molaka under Simba Screen Stories. The team held a grand Rocket Reveal event in Hyderabad on 27 October 2026, where director Sankalp Reddy attended as the chief guest and called the film a launchpad for many careers. That support from an established director gave the small film a big moment before its trailer even arrived.
From 30 October to 13 November: the date change
Chandrayan was initially planned for release on 30 October 2026. The team later moved the film to 13 November 2026. At the Rocket Reveal event, the makers explained that they shifted the date out of respect for senior heroes releasing around the earlier date, and decided to bring the film to theatres on 13 November instead.
The extra two weeks look like a smart move. The trailer has now arrived a full week before release, giving the film time to build word of mouth, and 13 November is a clear Friday with room for a small film to find its audience. The poster carries the date proudly: “Nov 13 in theatres.”
Chandrayan release date and OTT update
Chandrayan releases in theatres worldwide on 13 November 2026. The film will arrive in Telugu, and its trailer confirms a grand theatrical release rather than a quiet OTT debut.
As for streaming, the OTT platform and OTT release date of Chandrayan have not been announced yet. The team has said that discussions around the OTT rights are in progress and that more clarity is expected soon. For now, the only way to watch Chandrayan is in cinemas from 13 November. Filmibeat also lists Chandrayan among the upcoming Telugu releases, with its cast and release details.
5 exciting details from the Chandrayan trailer
- A village rocket that actually flies. The trailer’s best visual gag is also its premise: a rocket built by four villagers, with limited money and unlimited confidence, actually leaves the ground. The film treats the achievement seriously and the astronauts unseriously, and that balance is where the comedy lives.
- Space visuals on a small-film budget. The trailer shows the friends floating inside their spacecraft, with Earth visible through the windows and blue light washing over the cabin. For a debut-led Telugu film, the space portions look far bigger than expected, and they give the comedy a sense of scale.
- Friendship is the real story. The Chandrayan trailer spends as much time on the friends arguing, laughing and panicking together as it does on the rocket itself. The film is, at its core, a friendship story that happens to go to space, and the trailer makes that emotional centre clear.
- A fresh cast with nothing to lose. With Shiva Kumar Dheekonda and Swapna Priyadarshini leading a young ensemble, Chandrayan has the energy of a film made by people who want to prove themselves. The trailer carries that hunger in every frame.
- A release date with room to breathe. Landing on 13 November, a week after the trailer and clear of the biggest Diwali clashes, Chandrayan has a clean window. If the trailer’s humour connects, the film has space to grow through word of mouth in its opening weekend.
Why Chandrayan could surprise at the box office
Small Telugu films with a strong idea have surprised before, and Chandrayan has the ingredients: a premise you can explain in one line, a trailer that delivers laughs without giving away its best jokes, and a release date with little direct competition. The space-comedy angle is genuinely fresh for Telugu cinema, and the village-to-space journey gives the film a hook that stands out in a crowded November. The film’s fate will depend on whether the humour holds up across two hours, and whether audiences turn out for a fresh cast. But the trailer has done its job: people are talking about the village rocket, and that is exactly what a small film needs a week before release.
